What causes low back pain?
Lower back pain, as well as pain that radiates or is referred to other parts of the body, can be brought on by an irritation or issue with any of the tissues that make up the lower back. Lower back muscle spasms that follow can cause significant pain, and a number of syndromes can cause persistent discomfort. Although lower back pain is very prevalent, there is a wide range in its symptoms and intensity. Simple lower back muscle strains may be so painful as to require a trip to the ER, whereas a degenerating disc may only cause minor, sporadic discomfort.
